as young we tend to look ahead
As old we look behind
But do we really ever take our lives
One step at a time?

Oh sadness,
Take me into your arms
I've fallen to weakness
I've angered myself
I've fallen into your trap
Oh sadness you are a hateful hag
But today you are my life
You tell me I'm worthless
And I so foolishly agree

Triumph is a hopeful dream
Failure is a reality
We try and try and try again
In hopes we reach that highest dream
Why do they make it so high to reach
Why is the road so harsh
It's because your true dream is the treasure
The treasure of your hardwork
Your end is silver
Second only to your efforts
Which gleam the golden of a road well traveled

When stars were just a twinkle
And the sky was blue because it was
We rolled in grass and laughed
We sold bitter lemonade and slept
We made friends faster than enemies
It was the times if our childhoods
No realities upon us
Only our parents to provide
We sang the joyous song of innocence
With no end in sight.

The music coarses through the fabric
It's interwoven with my life
Through sadness
Through joy
Through long trips
Through short walks
Through bored times
Through excitations
The music takes you to a deep place
Takes you inside yourself
Takes you home.

I've opened a book
I've opened a new world
I've opened a new dimension
I've opened whatever I want
I've opened a time
away from my times
Away from my life
Away from this world
Away from everything
Solitude.
It's needed

Anew love
Anew life
Anew your view
Change comfortzones
Change extensions
Change your range
Destroy plots
Destroy hateful thoughts
Destroy your ploys.
A new time is dawning
Its a beautiful morning.

Awake at three AM
listening Jack Johnson
Telling me about life
He has a point
Awake at 8 AM
Watching my progress
Did I really write that
My mind agrees
not with my writing
Awake at 6 PM
awake is a subjection
To the state of exhaustion
I feel slow
I need sleep
But my pencil won't leave me alone
Awake at the midnight witching hour
I feel a stage of insomnia
My pencil refused to unglue from my hand
I can't unglue from myself
The words are my soul
Or heart
Whichever decided to rear it's gear today.

I'm just too darn lazy to click edit

Attempts and trials
They lead down two distinct roads
Failure be success
The ends of a path well traveled
Although failure is a more common destination
Success is well worth the wait
For if life was all success
It wouldn't be worth what it is

A string of music
A thread of life
Some are so easy to relate
Others are so very different
But the value of entertainment
Isn't as pricy as the value of something understanding

Need to be awake

History is life
written on nature's paper
With the pen of time

Why is it that
I write so late in the night
When by day I'm not tired
And have much more light
I think it's because I think
Too much in the day
Or maybe I think to LESS
By the sun's rays

Its no wonder i'm attracted
To such personality
I hope for its life
And longevity
So I can indulge
In writing late night poetry.

Us in the chatbox
We're talking about nothing
Sammy, De, and I

Poetry is expressive
But can also be restless
Music is compulsive
But can also be elusive
Literature is you friend
But only toward the end
And life is a great mystery
But it's always the greatest history

Watching
a mother smile at her baby
A father work his hardest
A brother protect you
A sister helping out
Is like watching:
A life being born
The world at work
Firefighters in a burning building
People feeding the poor
When you watch things
Even on the smallest scale
The bigger picture
Always shines through

A trying hand
A succeding feat
A genuine feeling
Willing to greet
You on your knees
Thanking anyone who listens
Time going by
So fast it whistles
Accomplishing dreams
Beating every goal
Everyone together
Just the way we roll

Foundations crumbling
Gentle hands groping out into nothing
Hopelessness dawning
Your mind is screaming
You state at the bearer
The bad news they bring
First move to deny it
Then it sets in
Realizing it's true
Tears start to stream
Yell to the heavens
Why is this happening to me?
Wonder what the last words
You said to them were
Was it your fault?
It's all a big blur.
The "comforting" words
Dont help clear your head
You just can't get over it
Your mother is dead.

[I know that ones depressing, personal experience...]

Still too lazy
sorry I suck

I look out the paned glass of my window
while really looking at the pain within
is it really so dificult to be happy?
All I can say is, yes.

Tis so strange what goes on
within the writers brain
Delilah being played
while the brush strokes of a painter
mix with the typing of a keyboard
the flickering of a lighter
the reving of a bike
the sounds that make my mind complete
the sounds that make me smile

oh dear Delilah
my heart is attatched to thee
the way you yield to my fingers
and play your beautiful keys
oh let you sing me one last song
before my day is done
sweet music to my ears
Delilah, take me to sleep

I decide to write a rhyme
despite the tick of the time
it's late, I'm tired
no sleep transpired
how much did my clock just chime?
